At our last meeting, I promised to start posting more on our ward blog about the grocery deals each week. If any of you get some great deals or find some great deals, please pass on the information! Since this week is the case lot sale at Smith's I wanted to make sure you all got this information as quickly as possible. Just remember, buying in bulk doesn't always equal a better value, sometimes you're just having to buy more. Typically, the case lot sale is about two weeks, but I haven't heard if there will be more sales next week or not. Here are the best deals of the week at Smith's:
- Kroger Tomato Sauce -- 25 c a can - a case of 24 is $6
- Smith's Evaporated Milk (a great food storage item!!!) -- 65 c a can - a case of 24 is $15.60
- Cream of Mushroom, Celery, Broccoli or Chicken Soup -- 50 c a can - a case of 24 is $11.99
- Kroger Mandarin Oranges -- 33 c a can - a case of 24 is $7.99
- Kroger Tomato Paste -- 33 c a can - a case of 24 is $7.99
- Kroger Pork & Beans -- 33 c a can - a case of 24 is $7.99
- Kroger Kidney, Pinto, Black or Chili Beans -- 50 c a can - a case of 24 is $11.99
- Kroger Tomato Soup (or Chicken Noodle Soup) -- 44.5 c a can - a case of 24 is $9.48
- Kroger Broth (vegetable, beef, or chicken) -- 50 c a can - a case of 24 is $11.99
- **** S & W Chili Beans - This one is a typo of some sort ... a case at the price listed would be $6, but it is showing it at $9.39, making it $0.78 a can
So, my plan for the week is to spend about $50 this week to stock up on my 3 month supply. I am planning on buying Tomato Sauce, Evaporated milk, mandarin oranges, a case of kidney, pinto, black or chili beans, and a case of broth. Making my total only $53.58. And getting me 120 cans of food for my food storage! :) Remember, it starts tomorrow and a lot of times these items can go fast!
